Get to know Chris
“I have a simple desire - to help people navigate the intricacies of the legal system to improve their lives.”
I have wanted to be a lawyer since I was in high school at Dobyns-Bennett, here in Kingsport. My office is in Kingsport where I was a member of the football and baseball teams at Dobyns-Bennett, graduating in 2004. I went from D-B to Carson-Newman College (now University) where I graduated magna cum laude in 2008. While at Carson-Newman I was a member of the baseball team. Each year I was on the team I was named to the All-Conference Academic Team. I went on to acquire my Juris Doctor degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 2011. In 2012 I was admitted to the bar in Tennessee to practice law.
I’ve been practicing law in Tennessee since 2012. Some of my areas of expertise include financial transactions, real estate law, and probate and estate law. I also have experience in personal injury and criminal defense law.
Having lived in East Tennessee all my life, I know the values and perspectives of people in our region. My family has been in East Tennessee since at least the 19th century. Because of those deep roots, I am familiar with the work ethic that guides people in our region as they provide for their families.
I enjoy getting to know people and learning of their goals and objectives. One of the lessons I learned in the practice of law is the necessity of being a good listener. I want to know each client as well as possible so that I can help you navigate the legal system in order to get your needs met.
I am blessed to live life with my beautiful wife, who is a teacher in Kingsport City Schools, and our two daughters who were also born and raised in East Tennessee. I believe in our region and its people, and I am committed to giving back to the community that has supported and nurtured both me and my family. As an actively involved member of this community, I have served as a Habitat for Humanity volunteer, a member of the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Kingsport and currently serve as a member of the Alumni Board of Directors of Carson-Newman.
In our spare time, my wife and I enjoy spending time with our daughters and extended family throughout the region. We are also deeply involved in our church and schools. I believe investing in our community makes it a better place to live, not just for my family, but for yours as well.
My strategy is simple: LEARN all I can about the opportunities before my clients during and after meeting with you. LISTEN to each client to learn how I can help you accomplish your goals. LEAD my clients to success.
I would be honored to meet with you to learn how we can work together. I look forward to that opportunity.
